Questions we get asked a lot.

Do I need a smartphone app?
No. Alerts are delivered directly to your email address. Setup is done through a web page that opens automatically on any phone or laptop — no app download required.
What happens if my WiFi goes down?
The device will attempt to reconnect automatically. Alerts resume the moment the connection is restored. You will not receive alerts while offline, but the sensors continue to run locally.
Can I control when I receive alerts?
Yes. Every alert email includes a link to your personal settings page where you can set active hours (e.g. only alert between 22:00 and 06:00) and a minimum cooldown between notifications.
How does the Airbnb guest stay mode work?
In your settings page you can enter a guest check-in and check-out date. During that window, motion alerts are automatically suppressed — smoke and sound remain fully active. After check-out, everything resumes automatically.
How does the WiFi device scan work?
The device scans your network every hour by sending a probe to every possible address on the network and checking which ones respond. Between 10pm and 6am it compares the count to the previous night and emails you if more devices are connected — useful for detecting unauthorised guests in your Airbnb.
How does the device get firmware updates?
Updates are pushed automatically over WiFi every 6 hours. Your device downloads and installs them silently without any action from you. The LED will blink rapidly during the update — do not unplug during this time.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. Plans are month-to-month and can be cancelled at any time. The hardware remains yours.
